ABSTRACT

Prostitution is one of the oldest professions, it is not like other jobs. Sex workers are not accepted by people due to their mindset. It is viewed as a vulgar profession. India in a moral judgment had a prohibitionist attitude towards prostitution. Is selling our bodies for money an ethical job even if it is legalized? Will it affect our societal morality? The answer to the same question is no they are not. In the 20th century prostitution is an illegal act and if it is decriminalized will equally affect both the sex workers and society. Through this, there will be more economic growth in the country[1]. This paper aims at the sociological and legal aspects of prostitution along with its impact on society.
